tatli cocuk Posted April 6, 2011 Share Posted April 6, 2011 Hi all, Has anyone here experienced the qual exams in Stanford EE? I am wondering what it looks like, and how competitive is this exam? Is it only the grade received that affects the result, if someone has publications for instance, does it help to pass? Any experience shared is appreciated. Gullit Posted April 8, 2011 Share Posted April 8, 2011 From what I know from my friend in EE PhD, you have 1 hour to see 10 professors individually. Each professor will give you a problem, and you have to solve/ suggest solutions in 5 mins, then move onto the next one. I heard the passing percentage is ~ %50-60. So it is pretty competitive.
