Recommendations Question Please

Would top programs generally prefer academic or professional letters? Thank you!

Most will state what they want on their website and will usually ask for a mixture. For every program I've applied to I've done one professional and two academic.

I just asked programs I am applying to what they thought about it. Each one said, they prefer professional recommendations but the choice is ours. So clearly, one professional is good.
