I have used it, and was impressed, and making good progress, but I spent too much time on it up front and then burned out. It can be sort of addictive - you want to pace yourself.

I love languages . . . I've learned Spanish (in high school) and French (on my own), and I'm currently working on Chinese. However, I've never used Rosetta Stone. I just can't justify paying the steep price, and I know (for me, ymmv) that reading books and talking to native speakers is more effective in learning a language.

I know this thread is really old, but I just finished using Fluenz for Spanish, and I loved it.  I highly doubt you'll find anything better for Spanish.  IMO it's definitely worth the money.
