ioul Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I'm getting nervous. My SOP would benefit from a fresh read tomorrow. No where on the school web site does it say a time cut off though. Does my application vanish at the stroke of midnight?
maeisenb Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Probably midnight tomorrow, whether that is EST or PST (or something else) I couldn't tell you...
snes Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) I've seen schools specify 5pm but I always assume midnight (as in 11:59pm). I myself will be freshly reading an application tomorrow before hitting submit. (It seems the online app is down right now anyway. Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.) Edited to add: maeisenb has a point. I would adhere to the school's time zone or your time zone, whichever is earliest. Edited December 1, 2011 by snes
Sigaba Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 MOO, I'd be in CYA mode and treat the deadline as COB using the time zones of the programs to which I was applying. My $0.02.
ioul Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks guys. My app is still there, so I'll shoot for COB (4:00 to be safe, hopefully sooner)
imisscoffee Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Holy ****, Berkeley is due so soon. I really want to get this in before the last minute. I'm so afraid to hit send, though, like I'll later realize I sent two of the same transcript or something. Or that I misspelled my last name on my CV.
PhDreams Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Does anyone know if UC schools use PST for their deadlines?
Safferz Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Does anyone know if UC schools use PST for their deadlines? I can tell you that Berkeley does, and the application closed 30 minutes ago.
PhDreams Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Thanks, Safferz. I applied to both UCLA and Berkeley. I noticed that Berkeley had a countdown on their app; UCLA did not.
