0000000000AAA Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Is it just me...I can't seem to find the place to upload the writing sample on the Rutgers application. Is it supposed to be mailed in? Am I just unable to read applications now?

Am I just unable to read applications now? You have to go on the e-credential site (using your RUID number) and upload it, along with your other docs.
0000000000AAA Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 Thanks, Trip! Good luck and hope to see you in a class next year.
Rupert Pupkin Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I have a question about Rutgers as well. Do we really have to fax in a copy of our GRE scores? I don't even think I have my actual paper copy, and I definitely don't have a fax machine. I'm hoping that it isn't a big deal.
user_name Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 i mailed mine, so maybe i threw another 23$ away, but the website says they have mine.
Rupert Pupkin Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Yea. I'm mailing mine as well. I just read under the program application requirements that they request a faxed copy in addition.
woolferine Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Yea. I'm mailing mine as well. I just read under the program application requirements that they request a faxed copy in addition. I used ETS to send mine as well, and they're showing up as received. According to this http://english.rutgers.edu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=183:applications-deadlines-inquiries&catid=126&Itemid=1565 it looks like having ETS report them is the way to go (perhaps wherever you found the information about faxing is just an outdated part of the website...the joys of conflicting information!)
cquin Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I believe transcripts have to be mailed in as well, right? I have to get on that... I cannot, for the life of me, understand why all schools won't just take scanned copies of transcripts during the application process. It would make our lives SO much easier.
user_name Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 a few require transcripts/gres once you are accepted, but only unofficial ones before. it'd save the poor students/minimum wage workers $30+ per application, and i really doubt it's common for people to forge their scanned copies knowing the university will ask for the real ones once accepted.

I had mine sent to Rutgers a few weeks ago (not that it's showing in my status check as having been received...) because it says on the general grad admissions site to do that, but the English Department site suggests that it's just scanned versions needed for now...I'm finding this issue with a few places I'm applying. Fun fun!
