nopm
If I applied on Jan. 9 and do not hear anything by ____ date (I'm thinking Feb. 20?), should I e-mail the program to ask them if they have received my stuff?
coho
a month seems like a reasonable period to me (Feb 9) . . .
Rutabaga
A lot of us had Dec 1 deadlines and still haven't heard anything. Even 3 months isn't unusual unfortunately.
evenstar
If you're talking about receiving materials then yes a month would be fine to ask if they received them. If you're talking about actually hearing a decision of yay or nay, then you definitely want to give yourself more time to hear back.

See if they have an online status checker, though they are often unreliable. When is the deadline? Lots of places don't send "you're missing XYZ" info till the deadline has passed.
