Alphonse23 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Would anybody interested in helping me compile a list of job searching sites? I'm specifically looking for software engineering jobs, but even if it's a general job search site it could still be beneficial. http://craigslist.org/ (the obvious first) http://www.startuply.com http://www.careerinfonet.org/ http://www.careerbuilder.com/ http://www.monster.com/ http://jobs.oodle.com/ http://www.ontargetjobs.com/ http://www.simplyhired.com/ http://www.snagajob.com/ http://www.trovix.com/ http://www.beyond.com/ http://www.hound.com/ http://www.indeed.com/ http://us.jobs/ http://www.jobserve.com/ http://www.jobster.com/ I'm hoping gradcafe members could help with finding the more obscure ones. I've heard everybody applies for everything on monster and careerbuilder. I'm looking for sites not known by the bots, if you know what I mean. If anyone could lend a hand at all, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks. Chronos, SarahReed and Alphonse23 3
robot_hamster Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Have you tried your local department of labor office? Mine has a website with job listings.
Alphonse23 Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 @robot_hamster Yea. I've tried the labor office before. That's another given. I know the ideal place to look is there and through a professor, but I'm actually not currently living in the city where I received my degree, so that's not a resource that's going to help me. An online search system is my best bet I think.
Madison Miller Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 All of those sites provide some help but, let me throw some caution to the wind. Since anyone can access these boards, the jobs are often flooded with applicants. Some companies post jobs to a more exclusive board, and it is automatically uploaded to the more common ones. I would look for jobs through your school and by networking. I'm not saying NOT to apply to those jobs - I'm just saying consider how many people apply for the job per day, per week, etc. Don't be surprised if you hear anything back from those companies.
Markwilson101 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Try to include http://ithooters.com/ too in the list. It provide It related jobs. May it will be helpful to the IT Job seekers.
marcela Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 You can also consider participating in graduate programs or other opportunities, I am currently searching at heysuccess.com. It may be helpful!
SarahReed Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Thank you for this wonderful post but people who already have a job, won't you agree with the fact that a good Resume also plays an important role in getting a job?
