Who is claiming that e-mail acceptance? I got nothing yet. Gonna check the ASF now. Edit: No info there.

I can't claim that one but my bf just got an email acceptance. It has a first year 0 teaching fellowship so could be an early notice.

Oo, cool. Congrats to your bf. Was it a POI or a generic e-mail or what?

I'm sort of sensing that this and Davis will be my first implicit rejections, but I'm still trying to remain in denial that I can go 10/10 on apps (I'm not doing a very good job convincing myself).

It was from the DGS, Sangeeta Ray.

Same here on both accounts, just a little while ago. Don't lose hope yet, TripWillis! Cuddle up with your other great options and let them calm you haha. But seriously, congrats on those and not yet having rejections =)

Wow, you are on a roll! Vandy, CUNY, Marylandy... Congrats! I think, at best, I'm hoping for a Maryland waitlist, but we'll see. Seems like the e-mails that went out were pretty systematic...

From the beginning of this I was convinced I would get in nowhere, so it's an incredibly unexpected roll, that's for sure. As haughty as it sounds, I don't want it to end here! Oh the greed of acceptances... As for Maryland, you never know, this process isn't completely predictable. If I were you (and if you think it's a good fit) I'd hope for Rutgers, they have an amazing funding package, and a pretty great faculty. I was going to apply but decided against it last minute. It would at least be a nice option to weigh against your other acceptances. (Or, there's always the infamous H!).

Yes to everything you just said! I too was hoping to at least go 1/10 or get a waitlist somewhere. When I went 3/3 last week, I was basically flabbergasted. I never envisioned having choices, so this is pretty weird for me. Now I'm totally disappointed if I don't get immediate emails or calls from notifying programs. The greed of acceptances indeed!

At this point, I am really pulling hard for Rutgers and Tufts. They both have decent funding and are both an excellent fit. Tufts has a small and personal program with great gender and LGBT studies scholars. I'll take it since you didn't apply at Rutgers that I have a fighting shot. ^_^

Eeeggsactly. Well good luck to you for those two! I'm sure you'll be successful, probably at both haha. Oh hardly, I am unwilling to consider all of this anything but a fluke. :)

I think 6 acceptances is hardly a fluke. Who knows? Maybe we'll end up in the same program.

This.

It's a very strange feeling to have even one acceptance. I can't imagine what it would be like to have several :)

I just got a rejection from the grad coordinator, in response to an email I sent. She said they're in the process of sending decisions this week. From what I infer it's either waitlist or rejection from here on out

I still haven't heard anything from them... safe to assume it's a rejection at this point?

I'm not sure... I've heard they have a strange waitlist system where they don't notify everyone on it at once, but rather as their first choice candidates accept offers elsewhere. Of course, I might just be holding onto false hope by now!

I was waitlisted at UMD last year (notified on 2/21/11). I had assumed it was a straight rejection until I got that wait list e-mail. In other words, don't give up hope quite yet.

I don't trust any of these schools. I was told by the grad coordinator that I wasnt offered admission, but I don't even underestimate the fact that they could still have you on a backburner and a waitlist could turn up. One of my profs who went to Duke was rejected outright by an official letter and then accepted a few weeks later...

Always, always, always, assume no news is good news :)

Or at least, assume no news isn't bad news ;)

I too haven't heard a single thing from Maryland.
