IMHO, don't get bogged down in the Ivy game/big name school game so much (if you have those options available to you) as UMich is next in line behind UWMadison and Berkeley for being one of the top Sociology programs in the country. Plus their research clusters are SICK! My mentor went there, and he's fantastic, so I'm probably speaking from a very biased perspective.
