rowlf Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Part of the reason thegradcafe is so addicting for me is the fact that you guys are typically so nice and supportive. Usually conversations among strangers online leave me disappointed in humanity.... then GC restores my faith! deleteuser_184321 1
oseirus Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 This really made my heart melt. The next romantic movie should include this as part of the storyline. Some sort of misunderstanding could occur because of the GC forum, causing tension only to be resolved with the realization that the two just wanted the best for one another all along. And then the movie ends w/an accpetance letter?
bgreenster Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 And then the movie ends w/an accpetance letter? As long as it's a rom-com, then I think this is a given Let's not watch an indie film about this whole ordeal.
faustian Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 As long as it's a rom-com, then I think this is a given Let's not watch an indie film about this whole ordeal. I don't know about you, but I want Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp to play the main characters. Oh, and they meet on a train... wait... that sounds familiar...
domnulsl Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Yep, I used gradcafe as a verb last night while watching the Super Bowl at a bar Friend: You gonna try to talk her at halftime Me. Nahhhh, I'm gradcafeing it. gradcafeing (verb): the act of yearning intensely for salvation and I'm done with gradcafe till...... tomorrow.... LCBucky 1

LCBucky Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I think we might have reached a potential "too much" nah, I think its brilliant.
oseirus Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I don't know about you, but I want Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp to play the main characters. Oh, and they meet on a train... wait... that sounds familiar... I would boycott that movie. Mr Depp has worn out all the goodwill w/my wallet after that abomination of the 4th Pirates movie. I don't even know how I could forgive Pirates 3! Maybe it was Edward Scissorhands? Maybe it was Ed Wood? Maybe it was Cry Baby? But a fourth one Johnny? Really? You must take me for a common chump sir! No more I say! May I suggest America's go-to male for the modern rom-com Josh Duhamel? I'm sure some generic male type can be cast in there. As long as it's not a Tyler Perry production, I would def give this rom-com a chance but publicly denounce it, as it is my duty as an alpha-male
felicite Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 My sister tells me multiple times a day since December to stop obsessively looking at admission results and grade papers or work on paper proposals or read for my classes. You can tell it's working. I need to read words from people who are as crazy as I am. Then rewatch all of the six episodes of BBC's Sherlock while "reading." P.S. I still think Johnny Depp is awesome because I haven't watched anything he's done recently. But I need to rewatch "Dead Man." That is one great movie with Johnny Depp.

You can tell it's working. Your sister has clearly failed the test ... she is not worthy of the secret brotherhood & sisterhood of grad cafe
