MA candidates at Michigan should be hearing back now, I'd assume, since I received word last Tuesday. It'll be any day now for others! Good luck to all!

I've applied to master's programs to five schools: Penn, Columbia, Vanderbilt, UT-Austin, and Texas A&M. I've heard back from Penn, Columbia (just a couple of hours ago), and Vanderbilt. Good luck to all!

I logged in and it only said that my app was complete and that "Applications that are complete by our early application deadlines should receive an admission decision by mid-March via email."

wait...how did hugitout get accepted to Penn on the 5th of Jan?

Penn's decisions are rolling. Some people got decisions last year. They make a decision on your app about 4 weeks from the day your app is complete. I should get a decision any day now. Friday makes 4 weeks for me from when I got their email.

i received an email this morning from teachers college telling me to log onto the online application. under the "Application for Admission" heading there was a subheading "Decision Status" where there was the link "Your application decision is now available online." I clicked on it and read the decision letter.

as someone else mentioned already, Penn makes decisions on a rolling basis (for their master's candidates). i submitted my application on 11/27/2011, but one of my recommenders didn't submit her LOR until 12/7/2011. and i received a decision on 1/5/2012. so...four weeks. :)

So, on the right side where it says "Application" it went from you app is complete to an actual link on the Next step tc webpage?

Does anyone know why Higher Ed programs make their decisions first? Do they get less apps? Do they have their deadlines sooner than other depts?

yesterday I received a phone call from a University that I was rejected for the Phd program. They were calling to tell me that my application file was currently being reviewed for the masters program.

Does that mean that I am in? or I have high chances to be rejected?

It was really difficult to received one rejection from the Phd program and I am trying not to created any expectation, but I always ask myself if they could be mean enough to call me saying that I was considered for the master and then reject me.

please, please someone call give any information about a similar situation.
