Jon1415 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Anyone applying to Duke's MEM program? Just curious how they have been assessing the new revised GRE scores. I am taking GRE exams in March and May.

George2248 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I am applying Actually I sent my application in December but I haven't gotten any answer yet Hopefully soon!
Jon1415 Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Thank you for your replies! @TiredWaiting - I think we're talking about two different 'MEM' programs. Are you looking at the Nicholas School for Environmental Management? I'm looking at the Pratt School of Engineering for Engineering Management. @George - Nice! Are you trying to do the distance or the on-campus program? Edited February 9, 2012 by Jayslo

George2248 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I am applying to the campus program... In which round did you apply?
Jon1415 Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 I'm applying 2nd or 3rd round, but I'm trying to get in the distance program. I'm working full-time in Oklahoma, so Durham is a little far for me.
alfredlangdon Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I applied for round 1, and I still haven't heard from them. I'm so tired of waiting. it's one of my top choices. Where else have people applied? How would you rank Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke & Stanford's MEM programs?

Where else have people applied? How would you rank Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke & Stanford's MEM programs? I havent heard from them in a long time now, Its also one of my top choices and I think I have a good profile for them. Any idea when are they supposed to revise the applications for the first round?
alfredlangdon Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I think my March 1. I checked a history of admissions results posted in previous years, and it appears to be before March 1. And here it is. So by March 1st, I guess: http://memp.pratt.duke.edu/application-deadlines What other programs have you applied to?

I applied to several Construction Management Programs also (UCB, Stanford, UIUC, Columbia)

Jon1415 Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Just submitted my application to Duke... crossing my fingers! I'll know if I'll be a Blue Devil on May 1st. Also completed my GRE this past weekend: Verbal: 160 (600) - 86% Quant: 158 (740) - 79%
fraek88 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I got through Duke's MEM program as well @ George-congratulations! @Jon- All the best. Can't wait to see the Blue Devils in action. Heard a great deal about them.
alfredlangdon Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Here are the employment stats of MEM graduates published by DUKE http://memp.pratt.duke.edu/sites/memp.pratt.duke.edu/files/memp/MEM_Eployment_Stats_2010-2011.pdf Have you found anything similar posted for other MEM programs by other schools?

I was accepted into the program last week! Does anyone know when they will notify the amount of scholarship or aid they can give, or if they give any at all....
alfredlangdon Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 that is some pretty detailed info, thanks! I was accepted into the program last week! Does anyone know when they will notify the amount of scholarship or aid they can give, or if they give any at all.... They have sent Fellowships already. I don't know that they offer much in addition to the fellowships online. What's your top choice? I would like to do this program in a year. Does anyone know how many people complete the program in a year versus 15 months?
gaozhongxiang Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Darn I guess that means I didn't get the fellowship. I was looking at the time it takes to do the program, and they have a 4+1 year but only if you did undergrad at Duke, so it think it's mostly a two year program. I'm probably going to Duke, just have to decide if doing the dual degree program is worth it or not.
xfluux Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Hey guys, I was accepted into both Dartmouth and Duke's MEM program. Anyone else accepted into the Dartmouth MEM program? I'm currently debating between the two and would love to know what you guys think!
alfredlangdon Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Congrats, Xfluux! I'm waiting to hear from Dartmouth. Were you invited to interview? They're both respectable programs. I don't know much about Dartmouth's job placement. That's what it comes down to for me - job prospects. I would do as much research as I can online, and then call admissions and ask what type of jobs do the students go into, where? do they collect average salary data, etc.
abhi_shake Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) Hey! I got admitted to Duke Engineering Management as well..! Do you guys know anything about funding? Are research assistanships and teaching assistanships easy to come by? How much is one paid if you get one of these? I am international student and funding is a huge issue for me. @alfred. Yeah it comes down to the job prospects for me too. Damn money. Congratulations to you guys too..! Hope to see you this Fall. Edited March 17, 2012 by abhi_shake
