liberosn Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 While everyone is waiting to hear back from places, Where would you go if you got in everywhere? Olive27 and BendRnBender 1 1
Helpplease123 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Why would someone red arrow this question? Edited February 9, 2012 by Helpplease123 BendRnBender and disintegrate 1 1
bgreenster Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Umm.. a LOT of it depends on funding, since I mostly applied to places I would love to attend... BUT my list I believe is: 1. UVA 2. Duke 3. LBJ 4. Georgetown 5. Maryland 6. American 7. Tennessee Most schools are pretty interchangeable for me. I hope I get to have a decision ahead of me That is a difficulty I am more than ok with.
m4g1c0ff3 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 1. Batten / Harris 2. Harris / Batten 3. Heinz 4. GW 5. American 6. GMU
domnulsl Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 1) SAIS 2) Maxwell 3) Korbel 4) Princeton 5) Elliott SaraDC 1
PrincetonOrBust Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 1. Princeton WWS (or bust) If I was willing to leave my job to go anywhere else though, it'd probably be: 2. HKS 3. Georgetown 3. Texas - LBJ
MYRNIST Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 1) University of Phoenix 2) Walden University 3) Princeton greendiplomat, MYRNIST, kn2010 and 3 others 6
fenderpete Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I'd happily go anywhere I applied... That's kind of why I applied there.
jhpigott Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 For the security studies programs I applied to: 1) Georgtown - SSP 2) GWU/Elliott - SPS 3) AU/SIS - US Foreign Policy
adollarninetynine Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 WWS, HKS, any other school that gives me 1/2 or more funding. JAubrey 1
KJ90 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 1) SAIS 2) Maxwell 3) Korbel 4) Princeton 5) Elliott Interesting ranking. I'm curious as to why you've placed Maxwell second. Care to enlighten me?
adollarninetynine Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 they liked the US news rankings? JAubrey and greendiplomat 1 1
domnulsl Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Interesting ranking. I'm curious as to why you've placed Maxwell second. Care to enlighten me? Yeah, fo sho,... 1) Maxwell overlooked my shabby GPA and offered me my first acceptance; it took a chance on me so I'll def. try to return the favor. 2) Ranked 14th for Master’s in IR from Foreign Policy (not as high as the others but I love the underdogs) 3) Ranked 16th for training the best candidates for jobs with the U.S. government 4) 16-month program so it's gonna be short and sweet like me (also much cheaper than other programs) 5) The exchange program is pretty balling ( Maxwell-Waseda University( one of the top 3 schools in Japan)) 6) I want to be closer to LINSANITY JAubrey and bgreenster 2
FSOJN Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 1. Harvard MES 2. Yale European Studies 3. Fletcher MALD 4. Georgetown MAGES (Only some of them are "Government Affairs" programs.)
legallyproper Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 @jrnels I got a call from the MAGES director yesterday stating to know about Rangel or Pickering so if you get finalist for Pickering be sure to automatically just let Ms. Dinu know alright man. Just FYI
DualCitizenIR Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) I am having trouble ranking them with numbers, so here are some groups: IHEID (MIA) Fletcher (MALD/MYF), Korbel (MAIS) SOAS (MES), American SIS (CRS), Elliott (MES) LSE (taught IR), Oxford (MPhil IR), Cambridge (MPhil IR) Durham (IR MidEast), BU (IR & Religion) All depends on the funding though... PrattIAFF Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Just thought I should mention that some admissions committees scan these forums. To what extent that would influence their decision about admitting you is anyone's guess... but just fyi. kaykaykay, PrattIAFF and DualCitizenIR 2 1
PrattIAFF Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Fully Funded 1. Georgetown - SFS (MSFS) 2. George Washington - Elliott (MA) 3. American University - SIS (MA) Self-Financed (Loans & Employment During School) 1. GW 2. American 3, Georgetown
