I'm glad everybody else has been worried about the status of their application. I've been trying to get a confirmation of materials received for months.

This actually makes me feel better, Venti. I thought I was the only one who couldn't get anyone to respond.

Yeah, by the time I realized they weren't going to email me, it seemed too late to call to get confirmation.

Trust me--you'd get nothing but the runaround if you did call. The results board seems like our only viable option. I'll be glad when I can stop checking my email for a good long while.

Yeah, another thing that seems confusing is that the results don't seem to be consistent from year to year, so I don't know if not getting a rejection today could be considered a good thing.....

I would consider the results board as a gauge of when you should hear something, but remember it is a leap year so everything is craziness lol. I'm just hoping I get an acceptance pronto tonto!

I called a few weeks ago (the English department directly) and got a prompt and INCREDIBLY friendly confirmation on my file, FYI.

Last year, Wegner was really helpful via e-mail - I'm surprised that people are getting the silent treatment. That being said, I'm doing pretty well not sweating it because I know they're slower than glaciers.

Yeah, I mean, I'm not sweating it too much because I already have one great offer, so if I don't get in I'll live, but I'd still like to know and I'd like to get some closure so I can start moving forward.

I got a call from Dr. Wegner today which I unfortunately missed. In his message (and his follow-up email), he said he was about to leave for Spring Break, so he'd be out of touch for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to chatting with him sometime next week whenever I get the chance. Congrats to those who have received calls/emails!

Figuredso, I just posted to the Results Board after posting, so I think at the moment, I'm the second acceptance on there.

Hmmm....They are being so slow about contacting people, and they are about to go on spring break? How many people are they admitting??? Geez....Talk about leaving people hanging.....

I feel like I'm going to throw up. These acceptances from UF now mean that the last 5 schools I am waiting on have already accepted and/or waitlisted people. I think that about does it for this year. I wish these programs would just reject me already so that I can have my closure and look towards the future.

Seems like a pretty high proportion of us here who haven't heard back yet -- haven't seen so many GCers accepted/waitlisted elsewhere, but certainly wouldn't be upset

What do y'all think: would it be forward to send Dr. Wegner an e-mail asking about one's application status? I have to respond to a Canadian offer by March 21st, so.... Thoughts?
