husky07 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 accepts or rejects? I have seen a couple of CE/EE applicants on the results page, but I am interested in CS decisions, do these two schools usually send their decisions that late??
belowthree Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I am interested in CS decisions, do these two schools usually send their decisions that late?? Yes, if you do searches through the history you'll see that at least Georgia Tech has a fairly steady history of doing decisions pretty late.
CountZero Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Not yet. I believe we should hear very soon though (I'm studying at Gatech).
tedjj Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 hmm Someone posted acceptance from Georgia Tech
CountZero Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 . I'm going to be very upset if I don't make it in.
tedjj Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 To people who got decision from GTech - any of you applied to robotics through college of computing?
CountZero Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Tedjj: I hate to do this but yes, my friend applied to the Robotics program (PhD) at Gatech and he received his acceptance email yesterday. I just called him to find out. I'm glad for him but I have a bad feeling about my Gatech application now.
husky07 Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 anyone applied to the HCC program at georgia tech?
SingaporeGuy Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I applied to georgia tech and I did not receive a reply too
CountZero Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Have another friend who applied to the HCC program, hasn't heard back from the school yet.
defmacro Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 why is Maryland so unpopular?! Not sure. I applied there (haven't heard anything though). EDIT: I was one of the GaTech acceptances. I went through the College of Computing and I applied to Security or Database Systems.
Isaac Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 one of my friends just got accepted to AI PhD at Georgia Tech.
CountZero Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 I received my admit from Georgia Tech this evening (around 4pm EST). I applied to the Graphics group at the College of Computing. But, I know for a fact that there are multiple rounds of admission, so don't fret it. A number of my friends in the PhD program received _really_ late acceptance emails from Georgia Tech.

Congrats on the acceptance, how did they notify you? email? would you mind sharing your stats with us. I applied to their HCC program, do you know anyone who heard from them?
SingaporeGuy Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 who can we email in georgia tech to check the status?
tedjj Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 who can we email in georgia tech to check the status? Let them do their job... Once the decision will be made you will be notified. They definitely have multiple rounds of acceptances...
CountZero Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Congrats on the acceptance, how did they notify you? email? would you mind sharing your stats with us. I applied to their HCC program, do you know anyone who heard from them? Husky: Thanks ! I received an email from the College of Computing. Does the HCC program fall under the College of Computing? I'll check with my other friends who applied today (one of them told me that he applied to CoC and hadn't heard and he had a fantastic profile). My stats: 630V, 800Q, A:5.5/6, and an 820 in the CS GRE. Graduated close to the top of my batch in undergrad, and a GPA of 3.9 during my Masters. Publications: one paper at an international workshop and another at an ACM conference as a co-author. I've been working with my to-be advisor on a research project for the past 8 months and with another professor for about 1.5 years on a different area (close to publishing our work this semester).
husky07 Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 CountZero, Yes, it falls under the CoC, specifically the School of Interactive Computing. If any of your friends did apply to the HCC program and heard from them, please let us know.
gatech Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Are all the results of Gatech declared? Any insider info.
black_wizard Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Any idea about the ACO decisions ? I haven't seen any ACO admits ( from Gatech or from CMU) I applied through the College of Computing
CountZero Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Are all the results of Gatech declared? Any insider info. From what I know, the first round of acceptances for all programs under CoC have been mailed out. There's a PhD recruitment weekend towards end March and perhaps they might look to offer admission to others somewhere closer to that point. I don't know much more I'm afraid, this was about all I found out when I talked to the folks at admissions.

Did they actually send you an email about the recruitment weekend, or have you asked them over the phone? I sent them an email about this, but they haven't responded for days now. And they are not answering my phone calls, it always goes to voicemail, I guess they are *very* busy..

I believe their recruitment weekend flier is sent along the with official offer of acceptance (by snail mail/courier). I just picked up my letter from the office so I was handed a flier. I'm positive that they will get in touch with you via email to handle travel arrangements etc. if you are not currently a Tech student. Have you received an offer from Ga Tech? If so, drop me a PM - I'll try my best to help.
