Has anyone got offers from CMU or RPI yet? any idea when they will be giving out their final list..

MSE of u minnesota is actually the same as its chemical engineering. the courses are offered by the same pool of faculty. u will share the same faculty as chE students. yet u have different core courses and got degree in different field. if u only cares about research, nice place to go

I felt so tired of waiting for results, so I emailed to the rest 4 universities. ) Surprisingly, U Wisconsin Madison answered me immediately and gave me admission :-?? (though they haven't mention about financial aid yet).

I also got an admit from U Wisc Madi but without Aid, I have an offer from Uminn with full Aid both for Phd.....I dunno why this time U wisc Madi not giving aid.....I would go for Uminn as it is a stipend and I can work under any prof...still waiting to hear from RPI and CMU...

Seriously, has anyone been admitted to cmu or upenn? Please post your results, fellow mat sci applicants! I see no admit from caltech on the result section but it is mentioned here so please please post all of your results for the goodness of everyone.

I had called CMU about a week back. They told me that they had given out the first round of admits and rejects. They asked me to contact them at around end of this month once again.

still no reply from upenn. Heard somebody was rejected but not sure how and when s/he was notified.

I got a mail from the grad sec that i am in some list as "qualified for admission". I dont think its an admit, since their policy is to give admit only those who show financial statement or who gets aid through the dept or any prof. she also gave a list of prof to whom i should contact to get funding.
