Ok ... yeah, just saw the beginning of this thread on the same topic as well. Darn, I really want to know one way or the other so I can plan my life for next year. I only got an NSF honorable mention though, and since NDSEG is even more selective I doubt I'll get the fellowship.

I am on the same boat that you're on.

Sadly, same here. Doubt I get it, but would like to know so I can make/solidify plans for the coming funding year. If I don't get it, I'll probably be trying for the Air Force scholarship (though I dont really want to be indebted to service for years after graduation)......

out of curiousity, is everyone currently able to log into the page https://ndseg.asee.org/award using your normal username and password? This was the awards page in past years. I can log in and I was wondering if that's a good sign, or if it's letting everybody in right now.

yup. is there any one who CAN'T log in? (sorry!) I think in years past you could log in but not update contact info?

so i got an email this morning about the SMART fellowship saying that the awards would be delayed. i hope this does not mean anything regarding NDSEG, but you never know... it seems like the DoD fellowships are chronically late

Haha that would be ironically perfect. In fact, Im figuring we won't hear anything til then anyways....

Last year they sent it out on the 16th, right? So lame.

Does anyone know if they have a time of day that they announce like NSF generally does? Will we receive an email in the middle of the night or can it come whenever?

Posted

Since they have to get the list from DoD and then send out the emails, I think that they'll email during business hours.

Judging by the forum from last year, it looks like they sent out emails in waves. I don't believe there is a set time (of course, they wouldn't tell us if there was in fear that those not getting an email right at that time would result in massive phone calls, emails, etc). Is it sad I am now literally having dreams about checking my email and getting results? *sigh*

Hmm...I think that notifications will be tomorrow. On the phone (they called me back) they said that results were "guaranteed by Apr 15" this year.

I'm going to try to stop focusing on it until the email comes, since I know I'm very unlikely to win and I feel like this is a big waste of time/mental energy over an eventual rejection :-/

Wow, they called you back? That's very nice of them!

I think that a Saturday notification is also possible, if the NDSEG program office receives the list from the DoD late in the work day tomorrow. I hope that won't be the case, but I'm not ruling it out...

Anyway, good luck everyone!

Hey guys,

I'm applying to the SMART fellowship (also offered by the DOD), so I've been reading all their forum posts. They said that the general procedure is to send you a congratulatory email and direct you to the site http://smart.asee.org/award with more award information. Therefore, some time before the emails were sent out, those accounts were set up - people who eventually got the award were able to log in, those who rejected were not.

There is a similar site for the NDSEG, http://ndseg.asee.org/award, and I guess that it is for the same purpose. Your log-in information would be the same as for your application. Give it a try!

This is crazy! I can log in but there is no information on it- just a side tab that says contact info and award overview (empty).

Can anyone else log in and see any information?

So the award site won't even let me access the log-in for the award site. Anyone think this is about to go down?

Yeah, I just tried to get on to the ASEE award site and am also getting the weird ruby on rails thing. Obviously, things are in the works. I wish they'd just send us the freakin emails and be done with the anxiety!
