Hey all,

I assumed by now all of us should have chosen at least one program for fall 2012. The only unsolved question would be the waitlist position.

I, myself, were waitlisted by Chicago Harris MPP program. I believe there are others like me who are anxiously waiting for the result. So I was wondering if we can share our waitlisted info for no matter what program. This may be beneficial for people like me.

I tried to call Chicago several times but no one answers the phone like ever!

I rejected my offer from G'town on Sunday, so there's one more spot for those that were waitlisted!

Today's the deadline to accept a lot of programs. I suspect there will be a flood of people getting off the waitlist soon.

I'm waitlisted at SIPA. I called yesterday just to verify I'm still on the waitlist, and was told that decisions should be out "in the next few weeks." That's as much info as they were willing to give.

When I asked JHU-SAIS about waitlist a month ago, they said they probably wouldn't even be convening the waitlist admit committee until after finals, so waitlisters wouldn't find out until probably late May-early June. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow since today their phone is probably ringing off the hook with last minute deciders.

I called Chicago today. She said the result will be out in the week of May 15th.

Hi Guys,

New to this. I was recently accepted to SAIS Bologna but rejected from the IDEV program

which is my area of interest. I find myself leaning towards the program at SIPA and

I am quite eager to find out regarding the waitlist. I would much rather prefer to go

to SIPA as Columbia is more well known in South East Asia where I plan on working after

graduation. From my research, although the SAIS program might be regarded as highly

prestigious in the US. It is not as well known in Asia in EU. I Would love to hear your thoughts.

I am extremely eager to get off the waitlist at SIPA. A yes or a no would save dozens

of sleepless nights.

Just got the news yesterday that I was accepted to Elliot off the waitlist! Tough decision time - was planning on attending the GPIA program at the New School because they gave me a full ride, now questioning it! GW has always been my dream school. Ah what to do?!

I am waitlisted at American SIS IDEV. I had an interview with an admissions speacialist about 3-4 weeks ago, and he said that waitlisted people should be hearing back around the end of May or early June, but he also says that each department takes a different amount of time.

Has anyone heard back from AU IDEV who was previously on the waitlist?

Just got the news yesterday that I was accepted to Elliot off the waitlist! Tough decision time - was planning on attending the GPIA program at the New School because they gave me a full ride, now questioning it! GW has always been my dream school. Ah what to do?!

i just graduated from the elliott school's undergraduate program and i took quite a number of its graduate level classes to fulfill my requirements. although the school has amazing and well respected professors, it's academic quality can sometimes be questionable. most importantly, the professors and staff are extremely supportive and willing to help their students find internships/jobs and write letters of recommendation.

as an undergrad, i was annoyed that the classes were late at night and that it met once a week for among 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours but it makes sense from a graduate perspective. the graduate classes are set up in a manner that allows the students to work during the daytime and study in the evenings.

furthermore, the location of gw is prime - it is located so close to the state department, csis, brookings institute, pearsons institute, human rights watch, etc. during my college years, i had a number of internships at a couple of think-tanks and i noticed that gw probably has the largest reach and connections within these institutions. for instance, many of the research fellows and program members at the wilson center and csis were alumni or professors at gw.

overall, i highly recommend going to gw but this is also coming a recent graduate who may have a biased opinion of her alma mater. i wish you luck with whichever choice you make and congratulations.
