WishfulThinker
Hello, longtime lurker here, After about a month of preparation for the GRE I managed to only get a 151Q, it feels terrible because I was doing way better in practice exams, I don't really know what happened and now I feel like a piece of crap. The thing is that one of the universities that I want to apply to, states that successful applicants get a minimum score of 155Q. So what do I do now? They are already getting the 151Q score in about 15 days (the time ETS takes to mail the results). Another university has an application deadline of December 1st, and the earliest I can repeat the exam is November 15th, so that means that the results probably wouldn't get in time. So what do I do now? I feel terrible
iowaguy
Retake & send new results. They should get by Dec 1. just specify on test day which schools to send to so they get the results ASAP. Edited October 17, 2012 by iowaguy
chaetzli
First, don't feel bad because your first attempt didn't go well. We all know that it's such a stressful experience. Second, schools usually don't mind if they receive the score reports a bit late as long as you can self-report the scores once you fill out the application form. alf10087
Don't be discouraged, you statistically have the capabilities to pull it off. Practice a lot more, and do it again. I had a friend who on his first test got 144Q and one month later got 159Q on the second one. Take it easy, and study smart.
