The first notifications go to "must-have" and "don't-want" applicants. After that it is a rolling process - everytime a "must-have" goes elsewhere they offer up that spot to someone else. Since THAT person may already have decided on somewhere else as well, this can go on for a while. I have heard of people getting accepted in July. Which must feel great. Really.

 

Haha. July is crazy. I would've already given up hope if it took that long!

Well, a sign may be getting an e-mail from the POI as "I am not aware of the results. But I know that this year we had very few places." I think this is an inferred rejection...

Hi! So do you recommend emailing the PI then at this time (no word since submission of application). I want closure, at the very minimum!

They are just debating how much funding to give you. :wink:

I am trying to contact PI's but I do not recommend anything since I do not have any decisions yet.

I think mods prefer we don't do this because it clogs up the forums. It's easier to just bump up an old post.
