sundv004 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Is anyone else waiting for their first response from a school for English MA programs? I know that MA offers usually go out after Phd offers, but really, how much longer can we expect to wait? Also, are any MA applicants out there also hoping for funding? I know this can be a grey area for MA students, as many departments are having a hard enough time funding their Phd students, but...whatd'ya think? Thanks!
zoberg Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Same question for comp. lit. programs. I'm waiting on Madison, Chicago and Toronto.
EnglishMA Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I've applied to 7 master's programs. The results search shows that some other MA programs have also been notifying applicants. I expect we'll hear from the rest pretty soon. Good luck!
sarahrayyy Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I have mainly applied to PhD programs for English, but just received word from Brandeis University that I have been offered a Master's in English & Women's Studies. I don't think it's common for MAs to go out before PhDs, but in some cases, they are sending them out about the same time because of funding issues. I am REALLY hoping to get some funding here. Otherwise, I don't think I will be able to go....
skately Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I'm still waiting on hearing from Wake Forest's MA in English. Anyone else?
mbkka Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I got rejected from U Chicago, Syracuse, UNC-CH for English MA and another rejection from WashU for English PhD. This was around first week of March, I think (bad week for me, lol!) Also waiting for Northwestern English MA and heard that results for that come out before July. Good luck to everyone still waiting!
