wiskey Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Ok, I'm applying to a top tier IR school for security studies. Many of the other applicants will be Ivy League, or military officers that have been taped for great things. I'm coming from humbler places but have a strong GPA, and excellent GRE scores. Basically my SoP admits I am not the archetypical applicant and argues that my unique perspective can strengthen the field. Right now my instinct says to end it with a quote/maxim which will be universally recognized daring the board to admit me. Is this the dumbest idea I've ever had?
rising_star Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Definitely not the best idea. You want to end with a strong argument for why they should admit you, what you bring to the program, and what you'll gain from it. TakeruK 1

It already sounds like you have a strong closing- the reason why your perspective is necessary in that field. Good luck!
