rayray09 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Hi, I have a friend who is looking into grad school for sports psychology, but does not know of many places that offer that program. I was wondering if anybody hear knows of any? Thank you for any help!
Faxon Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I know of someone at the University of Georgia doing something along those lines.
esotericorigin Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Rather than look specifically for sports psychology programs (there aren't many, West Virginia, Denver, North Texas are a few), it would be better to look for professors whose research interests involve sports.
Guest joshw4288 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) As a side note, look at the Exercise Science/Kinesiology departments. You will find faculty who study and research sport and exercise psychology here more often than in psychology departments. Doctorate holders in the sport psychology field tend to hold PhD's in Kinesiology with concentrations in sports psych. Off the top of my head I can think of Dr. Lochbaum at Texas Tech University and Dr. Podlog at the University of Utah. http://www.depts.ttu.edu/hess/_documents/faculty/vitae/mlochbaum.pdf http://faculty.utah.edu/u0778907-Les_Podlog,_PhD/teaching/index.hml Edited February 2, 2013 by joshw4288
SportPsych30 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Anyone else out there? Sure is lonely for a sports guy...
