Emailing to check on status?

Any advice for emailing POIs or maybe just the admissions coordinator to check in about the status of my application? For at least one of my top choice programs it seems like some people have already been invited to interview. I'd like to know if all interview invitations have been extended (and thus, if I should stop hoping...) or if I still have a shot.

May I ask which school(s)? I see you're Social Psych and I have some info about one big-name school's program I could give you.

That's a tough one, I would suggest waiting it out a few more days, most of the time phone calls and emails don't help, they may actually irritate people. If others are getting interviews, and you haven't heard anything by Thursday or Friday, I would say it's safe to contact them. 

 

I would advise that you make sure that the email makes you sound purely curious....don't sound desperate!!

I would wait. And if other people have received news then there's your answer (most likely).
