Just saw the post for twin cities on the results board- congrats, toothbrush! Is that your first choice,or are you waiting to hear from others before deciding?

I GOT INTO UM-TWIN CITIES! AHHH!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That's awesome!

I was rejected, but that's okay. I've gotten into a few programs that I'm excited about so the actual admission to each school isn't the thing that's killing me now - it's the inability to make a decision until I've heard from all the schools either way. I'm so excited to choose and get excited about a new school and new city. I just want to know and get started already!!

I'm sorry!  Looks like you've got more than a few good options on your plate though... :)

I was also turned away from U, but I'm not terribly surprised.  I knew that it was likely.

Now I'm on pins & needles until I hear from Saint Cloud (which, thankfully, is my first choice) - their decisions go out via mail, so it could be any time next week or the week after.

Congratulations, Occam!!!

My University of Minnesota portal has been stuck on "final review" for like 2 days now, Blargh.

undergrad GPA: 3.9, post bac GPA: 4.0, GRE 316, 5.0

Accepted: Rush, GWU, Emerson

Waitlisted:

Rejected:

Interview: BU

Got on the wait list for University of Nebraska Omaha. Happy to finally hear something. How many people get admitted off of a wait list? Should I hold my breath or is this as good as a rejection?

Posted

I would take it as a semi-good sign travel, at least that is how I am taking it. Looking at last year's results it seemed like many schools did pull off their wait list. Don't take it as a full rejection until you are told that you no longer have a chance. Also, you have several other schools that you can get accepted to as well, so I would not worry too much. Good luck!

hi travlnguy,

waitlists can be positive if you're near the top of the waitlist... so you might wanna ask what number person you are on the waitlist.

Also, I see that you are also applying to UNK (Kearney). Hear anything yet? I'm hoping to hear from them soon because I went through last years results and 2 people responded about Kearney (with acceptances) around this time of the month...(apparently they were notified through postal service). I checked my application status online using MyBlue, but it still reads "your application has been deferred to department for review"

If there is anyone else waiting to hear from UNC Chapel Hill,  I contacted Ina Diana today to check on any kind of timeline /update -- and she replied to my message (quickly) that all decisions have been made, and if we haven't heard yet, it is because it takes a few days to get decisions entered (etc) - and we should be hearing very soon.

Definitely don't know what that means for me, but since UNC's SLP program is kind of a reach for me (despite it being where I got my B.Mus and MAT)... I figure I will get a few rejections along the way.  Still haven't gotten the official decision, but I'm not holding my breath.  Holding out hope for everywhere else!!

I have been in contact with one of the professors at UNK and was told that because of the snow storm, the committee had not yet met. They will be meeting and sending out notifications around mid-March.

Good luck to you.

I am assuming that everyone accepted received a phone call then.

Sad, but I still have to hear from 4 more schools!

Did anyone else who applied to U of I Urbana-Champaign get an email about with the subject "A Special Invitation to the Graduate Program Open House at the University of Illinois"? I haven't heard from them yet and I want to think good things about "special invitation" but not sure...

I don't know, one thought I had was that perhaps professors had a chance to "brighten the day" of just one applicant, and called them.  Maybe there were a few of us who got accepted (electronically) but without a phone call... or we are on the wait-list and the status just hasn't been updated.   I mean, rejection or wait-list, I am not going to get down, I have a few more schools that I've had positive communications with lately that have me thinking good thoughts, so I'm definitely not going to worry too much more about this one.  Going to visit one of my schools in mid-March, the last school I didn't visit already, and its one where I feel like an acceptance could be likely.  Praying and waiting going on here.

Oh, and BIG congrats to all of you with notifications pouring in! :-)

Which school! I hope you love it. I have done all campus visits except two, and I am waiting to see if I am admitted before visiting.  :)

Western Carolina U -- before applying, I really just looked at the info online.  Their university is only an hour and a half from my husband's family, so if I do get into one of my other choices, and get in here, I want to be able to make a good, equal comparison (having visited everywhere else).  Of course if I only get into WCU, we know what the  answer is ... as much as the "prestige" of a program might make a difference in my future application for a PhD, I also want a good, solid program, and I feel like I can get that everywhere I applied.  :-)

I think the majority of programs will give a wonderful, solid foundation for our clinical careers. Every school is different, but great in its own way.

I got the same email, but I'm not exactly sure what it means. It's from the admissions account, so it's hard telling who received it. Let's just think positively.  :)

Oh okay, seems like Fort Hays is in a similar situation right now...they won't reply till mid March either..

Thanks for letting me know!

Good Luck to you too! :)

A little heart palpitation hit me ... I got some emails about financial aid from two of my schools -- and then I realized that they were triggered by my recent submission of the FAFSA to all of the places where I applied because NC suggests a March 1st deadline for FAFSA submission.  After I calmed down... I just wanted to come on here to alert any future readers of this forum (or you lurkers!) that the financial aid emails do NOT indicate admission.  I logged in and created the passwords and everything and it STILL said something to the effect of "waiting for admissions info to be updated."   What a terrible email to receive at this time!! ;-)
