goodatstats Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Hi, I was wondering how many international students are generally in a cohort and how competitive their backgrounds may have been? For other schools like UW and JHU I can see student webpages and get a general idea of where people are coming from, but harvard does not have this feature.
DMX Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 if i recall correctly it was something like 20~30%
cyberwulf Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I would say that the typical international cohort at Harvard is a slightly stronger version of what you see at UW and Hopkins. It seems that Harvard gets a wider diversity of international students than those places, i.e. not just folks from China/Korea and India.
Crunch Time Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 On a related note (sorry about the pseudo-thread jacking), how many phd students does Harvard Biostats accept each year? This information has been rather hard to ascertain from the website.

DMX Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Looks like harvard just sent out first batch of acceptances. but they are all domestic are timelines different for international students?
