spunky
so my Dept is jumping in the R bandwagon and we'll start ditching SPSS for R. as a quantitative analyst, as much as i welcome the change (i think the methodological literature has spilled enough ink on the ills that have come out from SPSS) now i'm now stuck with teaching people who are not particularly interested in statistics how to program in R, manipulate data, etc. has anyone faced a challenge like this? any (free) resources would be greatly appreciated
Lisa44201
Oh Lordy, good luck with that. I still cry when I have to use R. I personally like TINN-R as a companion to base R - makes de-bugging code a heck of a lot easier. Check out http://www.gardenersown.co.uk/education/lectures/r/basics.htm and http://ww2.coastal.edu/kingw/statistics/R-tutorials/index.html and for TINN-R, http://medipe.psu.ac.th/elearning/mod/resource/view.php?id=307 Those get me through. Guest |||
Learning R is an investment, particularly for people completely alien to programming. There is no easy way to swallow the pill other than reassure people that its the way of the future, and show some of the beautiful graphs R can make.
