Fall break!

Fall break is this Thursday! I'm so excited about this! I will get 4 days off (Thursday through Sunday). I feel great right now!

Fall break is just for undergrads here. That said, it's a very peaceful time on campus.

I got Fall Break as a first year since I wasn't affiliated with a lab yet (I used it to go on a field trip to tour a national lab, which was pretty cool), but beyond first year we're expected to be here doing research. It's a break from teaching though, since the undergrads are gone!

I decided to go to a conference right before fall break to ensure I'd get an actual break and it's awesome. I fully recommend this strategy to those who aren't tied to labs...

i'm super jealous of you folks with fall breaks! my next chunk of time off is the second weekend of november, a whopping 3 days total; my more bearded half & i will be spending it in glacier national park looking at views like this:

Im super stoked! After these midterms that I did pretty well, now I could come back to research and proposal writing... hopefully submit a paper by the holiday!!!

I guess I'm lucky! I'm done with my midterms. And in my school, undergrads and grads both have fall breaks... Guess what? Today is the last day before fall break! Yay!!!

No fall break until thanksgiving here, and I decided I'll be staying around through then so I am hoping to get some productive research done during that time. It's very hectic to have to balance that, teaching, and my own classes right now. Since my hometown is so far away I'll be taking off 6 days during Christmas time so I hope to have earned that by then.

Yeah, we had group meetings during Fall Break. Not even a chance to sneak off subtly.
