screencheck Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Did anybody apply to the University of Illinois in Chicago? I don't think I've seen it mentioned here, I'm just curious if I'm the only one.
apk361 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I thought I saw at least one other on here somewhere, but I can't find them now. I live nearby and I'm curious at what's going on there in terms of grad applicants with the labor strife
IoSpero Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Just heard back from NYU ISAW, didn't get in but wasn't really expecting to, I knew it was really competitive and I only have a BA and a year of graduate research. Congrats if any of you are the lucky few that did get acceptance and that beautiful 36K stipend! Looks like I am headed to Ithaca in the fall instead for an MA.
Daisy123 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I am sorry for the news i was considering applying there perhaps next year....do you have other places where you have applied?

Ithaca sounds like a good option though! Did you interview with ISAW two weeks ago?
IoSpero Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Yeah I did interview but like I said I knew it was a long shot with only a BA. Congrats Melian4! I see you got in. Have you decided between Oxford and NYU? I'd find that choice impossible. I'm by no mean upset about Cornell, its a great program but it would have been nice to stay in NYC with a cushy stipend. Good luck on decisions everyone!

Good luck on decisions everyone! Thank you! I am really surprised to have gotten in. I couldn't tell if the interview had gone well or not when I walked out of the room; they spent a lot of time discussing among themselves and completely ignoring me. It all went so fast! At the moment, Oxford hasn't offered me funding, so it'll be between Joukowsky and ISAW unless by some miracle I get a Clarendon or Ertegun scholarship. Where else have you applied beside Cornell and ISAW?

pears Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 If anyone is waiting to hear from CUNY (Hunter): I got my decision from them last year on the 22nd, which, like today, was the second-to-late Friday of March. I got an email telling me a decision was available via the ApplyYourself portal. I can't say 100% whether you'll be hearing today, but if you haven't yet, I bet you will be soon! Seems like they usually send out archie decisions in mid- to late March.
catsrgods Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I'm STILL waiting to hear back from UCLA. It seems like the middle of April might be when us wait listed folks start hearing back. Trying to be patient.....
