derpina1015 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Hello, I also got rejected at UCF, admitted for the Masters at the University of Tulsa and I am currently waiting to hear back on my status at UMSL. I have not heard of anyone being accepted at UMSL yet (perhaps someone can correct me if I am wrong?), but I have seen multiple people say they are wait listed there. I actually emailed UMSL a few hours ago to see if they could update me on if I am still being considered or if they have chose to go in another direction. I will send you a private message if I hear anything back. I wish you the best of luck with the process, try to stay positive, no matter what you have an offer, I am sure others will come:)! Yeah, do let me know if you hear back from them. Thanks for all the encouragement and I wish you all the best and more!
roebuck1 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Hi all, I just wanted to correct myself on something I said awhile back. DePaul did not actually send out acceptances earlier this month like I had said. They were behind this year and just got around to it this week. If you're still waiting to hear from DePaul, there may still be hope. Sorry about that.
bzemen Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I think that is awesome!!! 1,000,000 congrats on that. That feeling must be ineffable! Thank you so much!!! It does feel great, especially because I thought I was going to have to wait until closer to April 15th to hear back from them! and I reallyyy wanted to be somewhere warm. Good luck to you with your applications!

If you're still waiting to hear from DePaul, there may still be hope. Sorry about that. Yes, I received a wait list email from them a few days ago. They have funding for 3 students this year and received 73 applications. University of Nebraska - accepted, full funding University of Oklahoma - offered interview, declined Wayne State - waitlisted DePaul - waitlisted Bowling Green - waitlisted University of Akron - no info, assume rejection University of Minnesota - no info, assume rejection University of South Florida - rejected [edit - I thought I'd post everywhere I'd heard back from, even though info is in results section] Edited March 1, 2014 by Arseni Munashi 1

iopsychgirl123 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Does anyone know if the following schools have made their final decisions? Rice University Clemson University University of Houston Virginia Tech Heard from the director of program at Clemson. They have sent out their first round offers and professors have notified their alternates so if you haven't heard anything then it's probably not a good sign. He was very nice and said they would update the online portal within the next few weeks. Best of luck with the other universities!
Chops13 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I got invited to the interview day at Louisiana Tech! I am planning on attending, is anyone else going?
iopsychohmygerd Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Just got an email with details about a formal offer from UMSL (accepted off of the waitlist). Visiting FIT on the 10th of this month, but as of right now, I'd probably choose SLU if they make me an offer. The visit was awesome. I honestly don't know how it escaped the list for program culture, etc. because it was top notch. Roebuck, are you leaning towards FIT or Roosevelt? are you going to visit FIT any time before you make your decision?
iopsychohmygerd Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I got accepted to UCF off of the waitlist today! waitlist people keep hope!! Congrats! I'm still crossing my fingers, but I'm so excited for you and tanneraustin! UCF looks like its program is pretty great.

Roebuck, are you leaning towards FIT or Roosevelt? are you going to visit FIT any time before you make your decision? I'm not really leaning one way or another right now because I haven't heard anything from FIT, with the exception of you're accepted. I'd like to hear something more about that funding "they might have" before evaluating FIT any further. If they can't offer me any funding ever then I'd say I'm leaning for towards Roosevelt because they are actually offering me SOME funding and it's closer to home/the city. Also not sure about visiting. That's probably not something they fund and I'd feel awkward asking lol. That being said, I still have 6 schools left to hear from. If any of them can beat the funding I've been offered already then I might not have a choice but to go there because I really don't want to be paying off loans. Have you visited FIT/plan on visiting? If you did, how was it? Edited March 3, 2014 by roebuck1

Melissa Jo Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 So far... Accepted: auburn, FIT, IIT ~no funding for 1st at any of these Interview: Latech (on the 15th) Rejected: Ucf, a&m Assumed rejection: old dominion, UH, Georgia tech
iopsychohmygerd Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) Also accepted to Auburn with no funding. Roebuck, they've been approved to offer partial tuition remission. I think they're waiting for their budget details to get worked out before they specify. So at least there's that! and nope, I'm driving down to visit on the 10th. I'll let you know how it goes. iopsychohmygerd Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) I get the feeling Auburn is just casting a line out to their remaining top 3 (they've accepted 2) for that no funding slot and seeing if anyone takes the bait... Edited March 4, 2014 by iopsychohmygerd

Iopsychohmygerd, I'm also accepted by FIT but they have not told me anything about funding yet. Roebuck1 and iopsychohmygerd, did you guys received the acceptance letter from the admissions office? I got one through email and they were asking for a $300 deposit "immediately". I'm still waiting to hear back from two other schools, but FIT's letter did not specify any deadline of when to get back to them. Do you guys know when we are supposed get back to them about our decisions?
tanneraustin Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I got accepted to UCF off of the waitlist today! waitlist people keep hope!! Excited to meet you if you accept! I'll be accepting my offer very soon. I visited last week, and you should be excited. Their department is impressive... new psych building, tons of resources, and the sense of community is great.

Do you guys know when we are supposed get back to them about our decisions? The universal deadline for everyone to decide is April 15th. That $300 deposit is only if you decide to take their offer and attend FIT.
iopsychohmygerd Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Yes, the APA deadline is April 15th, and most schools (including FIT) abide by it. Melissa Jo, I'm guessing Dr. Fan. The email he sent me was a bit unclear about who I'd been matched with. Dr. Michel and Dr. Svyantek have both already taken students, though, so I assume Dr. Fan because he is all that's left. I guess it's possible they'd give Dr. Michel two students, though, since he's new (and who I named in my essay). And you?
iopsychohmygerd Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Also, ask Dr. Steelman about the partial tuition remission for the program at FIT. That's how I found out about it. I also probably won't accept at FIT, since UMSL just offered me a full ride (and I'm still holding out for SLU), so I can only imagine that will increase the funding they can offer you. I'm still going to visit the university, though. If it really was just outstanding, I might consider it anyway.
Munashi Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Hello all! I wanted to let you guys know that I have accepted the offer of admission I received from Penn State! This means I'll be releasing a couple other fully funded offers from University of Houston and from Baruch College/CUNY. If anyone out there (including you lurkers!) is wait listed at these places, I hope this helps you out. Very best of luck to all of you! I will also release any other offers I happen to receive (although I doubt any more are coming for me) and keep everyone posted about if/when I hear back from schools I hadn't heard from yet. Shushu Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Has anyone heard from GWU lately? I know there should have been interviews but I was wait listed and wanted to see if anyone accepted offers or are still waiting
