iphi Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) A professor writing one of my LORs missed FIVE of my deadlines. I sent her an email and got an auto-response saying she is out of the country until December 31 and will have very limited email access! These are literally half the schools on my list, including my top 2-3 picks! What should I do? Especially since one of them is a hard copy letter! If she didn't already mail it she won't be able to until January 1 at the absolute earliest. Both other letters have been submitted on time to all schools (as far as I know). ratlab Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I would try to find another writer, but that's just me. It's better to have a complete application than an incomplete one, as some departments will immediately throw you out if its not finished. Call your schools! Hope all goes well.
iphi Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 Maybe... I am literally at the airport right now leaving the country myself. This is such a nightmare.
shelbyelisha Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 The same thing is happening to me! My final letter writer just told me that she won't be able to upload her letter until Jan. 8th. I notified her on NOVEMBER THIRD! I'm not sure if I should try to get a last minute letter writer to upload something ASAP or just contact my schools and have them wait until the 8th...
Sarah Bee Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) When I submitted my online application to the university, they sent an automated email to both the authors of my recommendation letter. One of them uploaded the letter and I received an notification immediately. However, the other author -a professor - says she didn't receive any email from the university. I contacted the varsity but no reply yet and I have a deadline tomorrow. Too worried. :/ Edited December 30, 2013 by Sarah Bee
