iphi Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Tips for your applications: There is no "Uni. of Ohio". It's Ohio State University (OSU) or Ohio University (OU). New Hampshire is spelled "Hampshire". Amherst is "Amherst" I know you're an international student. Just make sure you get them spelled/named correctly on your applications! You don't want one small mistake to mess everything up!
bleh Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 heh thanks for the heads up. thou i was lying down in the bed. hard to type =) would be nice if you guys evaluate =)
Loric Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) You need to retake the GRE with a serious emphasis on bumping up your verbal score. You're almost below the base-line combined criteria (290) for many schools and your writing is also below many minimums - 3.5 Edited January 5, 2014 by Loric
bleh Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 well i dont how that happened my toefl score is 100 with 28/24/22/26 i dont think gre general is a problem but the damned subject score is low.
GeoDUDE! Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 You need to retake the GRE with a serious emphasis on bumping up your verbal score. You're almost below the base-line combined criteria (290) for many schools and your writing is also below many minimums - 3.5 Baselines for most physics depts are 310, even if they don't mention it on their website.
DerpTastic Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I'm guessing you've already applied and don't have time to retake anything, but the GRE should definitely come up, you don't really want a verbal below 150 and a quant below 160. Your writing should probably come up at least a little. (aim for 310 like Geo said) The subject test is a bit low, but probably won't keep you out of a program in itself. 20 schools is a lot, so I would like to say perhaps? You do have a good masters gpa.
