Here are my statistics: GRE verbal: 168 GRE writing :4.5 GRE math :142 (embarassing) cGPA: 3.69 English GPA: 3.79Im applying to the following english graduate programs: University of Minnesota (PhD) Penn State (M.A) UC Boulder (M.A) NYU (M.A) Carnegie Mellon(M.A) Brandeis (M.A) University of Washington (M.A) Northwestern(M.A) Boston University (M.A) Any advice or thoughts are appreciated!
VioletAyame Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 From what I've heard around here, in your discipline the Q score would not matter as long as your combined score hits the range of 300, which yours obviously does. To be sure, you should contact these programs and ask for their preferences, since they don't always have the same policy regarding GRE score. And please take this withe a grain of salt - hopefully someone applying or attending an English MA program might give you better insight! DerpTastic 1
Horb Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) Based on numerous meetings with professors, the math section is never looked at unless the school states so and most of the time the gre is used as a tie breaker. Don't worry about it. Edited January 18, 2014 by Horb mochastar82 1
