SocInTheCity Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I know people are probably a little sketched out to do so, but it is so helpful to see what the departments expect regarding the GRE. As much as we are told, "it is just one component of the application," it's good to have a sense of the program history with the GRE scores. Thank you so much guys! And congrats to everyone with acceptances! SocGirl2013, riverscuomo and Maleficent999 3
complexbongo Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I agree. Although the GRE's importance is up for debate, it is helpful and people like to gauge themselves against other applicants based on hard numbers. Also, it would be great if more applicants to PhD programs gave their research experience / publications in the Notes portion. Best of luck to everyone!
overlyresearched Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I've been accepted to 2 schools thus far... let's just say my GRE scores were not my greatest asset. Did better on verbal than quant. Not horrible, but not amazing either.
