windypoplars Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I just received Rutgers invitation for Feb 28. However, I am eagerly waiting to hear from NYU social psych, and have a feeling that they might have their interviews on Feb 28 as well, since looking at last year's interview schedule, it seems like NYU social psych dept do their interviews in late Feb or early March. And as you can tell from my line of thoughts, my first choice is NYU. Rutgers invitation didn't indicate how soon I should RSVP by. How long can I wait to RSVP? Is a week too long to wait?
finally Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I asked one of my recommenders this question and he said "go to them all, they won't have an issue scheduling a special visit if you already have a conflict." So I'd say wait til Tuesday early afternoon (that's 2 business days) and then reply yes and if NYU wants you do a conflict.
iphi Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 You could call or email NYU and ask when their interview date is and when they are sending invitations. I did that for a few schools and they were perfectly friendly about it. Also, the invitation you already received should include an "RSVP by" date. February 28 is quite a ways away, I think you have time before you have to respond!
iphi Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Just chanced to read right after I responded to you. If the entire Psych department at NYU has the same open house day, it looks as though it will not conflict with your interview the 28th!
rabbit2013 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 The NYU dates on the other thread may not be for Social, especially since the first date (2/14) overlaps with SPSP. I emailed the social psych coordinator at NYU last week, and she said that admissions decisions (including interviews) are made a on "rolling" basis and that interviews typically take place during the first few weekends in March. Hope that helps.

When are the interviews and when did you hear from them? I am waiting to hear on the MCCS track in Psych.

I heard from them on January 10, and the interview date is February 7.
