Did someone for Taiwan get accepted? (According to the spreadsheet)

No, I don't believe so, or at least I haven't received any information.

Waiting on Malaysia! Surprised there's not more chatter on here for Malaysia for how relatively large the pool is.

My prediction is that Taiwan will notify either this week or sometime next week according to past notification dates...but then again the ETA program has expanded...from 47 to 73 spots...so maybe they'll notify later....ahh this is driving me nuts! I always get asked each day whether I've heard back yet! Whether its my mom, housemates, professors, coworkers, friends...sigh, the anxiety >.<

Hey! I'm applying to Tajikistan! I am hoping for earlier notifications, because my interviewer said they were sending their rankings to DC around late February. So, basically all that is left is the Fulbright board certification. Except, in the past Tajikistan notifies the last week in April? Basically no idea what is going on/taking so long. Happy to see another Central Asian applicant though!

UGhhh story of my life. Well, best of luck!

Caroe, I didn't apply to Central Asia (I applied to Moldova), but I did live in Kazakhstan for two years! It was through the Princeton in Asia Fellowship program, and I hung out with the Fulbright-ers while there. Let me know if you have questions about life there!

Cml, it might take a while for Tajikistan possibly due to Visas (which I think might be why it takes so long for Kazakhstan as well). I'm not a representative and am just speaking from my experience there, but just a thought.

Hmmm...but we don't apply for visas till the summer, and then we do so through our host institutions I think, so WHY.

yay! congrats korea fulbrighters! party for the rest of us still waiting!

9PM notifications!? dunno if that was from korea or u.s. office working overtime but either way NO TIME IS NOW SAFE!

also danmuji & miliek:

From the looks of the small email bit shared it must have come from the Korea office rather than IIE? And since it's about 11 am there it would make a little bit of sense! ;)

ALSO YAY!!!!! <3

I've been reading all of these posts for weeks now and I can finally say the wait is over for me! Selected for South Korea ETA! Thank you everyone for posting motivating comments and to those of you waiting on notifications, hang in there! I thought I would have to wait at least another week or so and I was happily surprised tonight! Keep moving on from the "check your email every second stage" and you'll be even more excited when the news comes!

Congrats to everyone that has received it so far!

Yay!!! Congratulations to all the newly accepted South Korea teachers and researchers!

I also applied for an ETA to South Korea, but I haven't received any notification of acceptance or rejection. I'm shakin in my britches! If I receive any notifications, I will update so anyone who is as nervous as me can get some info. Does anyone know if Fulbright staggers notifications?

Yeah, I agree with you on the visa thing. We probably won't have to apply until after we are accepted. Maybe the Central Asian republics like to notify together?

In 2013-14 they changed the visas for Americans a little so that Americans are able to get 5 year visas (tourist), but there seemed to be some kinks to sort out...I remember that even for NGOs related to USAID there were some problems. I just remember talking to someone from the US consulate in KZ and they mentioned some kinds of problems getting the Fulbright-ers over to Kazakhstan. But never mind, you can always ask them yourselves once you are all in Central Asia! :)
