So i've asked one of my professors for REU LOR and I received an email saying that he submitted a "strong" letter.

What do you guys think "strong" imply? I sense some negativity..

When my advisor said "strong" she basically talked about how I was one of the best students she's ever interacted with. (No idea if this is actually true...) But strong is very good!

Yes, you wouldn't want anything but a "strong" letter for an REU application- this implies nothing negative.

Because of the quotes around the word strong makes it feel like it and I mostly interacted with posdoc so just a little curious and skeptical on how he could have written a strong letter.

He probably had the postdoc write the letter and then gave it a few finishing touches, which is totally normal. The quotes are a little weird but I'm sure he means well.
