Bad sign?

I haven't heard anything from Canadian University X

I applied in January and waited patiently until last week, when I couldn't take it anymore and called the graduate secretary to inquire. She said they were going through applications in "batches" and that she remembered seeing mine that day (Tuesday 7th). I asked if decisions had been made and she said no, and gave me the same speech about them being looked at in batches. She was really vague and told me to contact the graduate coordinator by e-mail, and so I did. I've yet to hear back from them. What do you think this means? Do you think I'm in the middle of the list, possibly waiting list? I think they might have sent out their initial acceptances and are waiting to hear back. Ugh I'm so confused!

I've been accepted to another school but the funding isn't so great. I would like to know soon. Would it be too pushy if I called them again this week to ask?

I know York and UofT are moving slowly, if you're on a waitlist you'll have to wait until the 15th or later. Keep hope alive.
