SPelansky5
If you got Accepted or Rejected, where did you go to Undergrad? And do you know what their acceptance rate is there?
manugonza
I believe their acceptance rate is about 4%, 22 out of around 600 more or less depending on the year.. I was accepted, went to RISD for undergrad. I don't really think that matters though, they usually look for a diverse group so they ltake people coming from different types of places.. Manugonza, does the Yale MFA in painting offer funding? Is it a reasonable amount?
manugonza
yes, they're actually really good. They only give out need based financial aid but in my case they were extremely generous.. and when I visited and asked other students they said the same thing to me. from what i read it's supposed to be need blind so the try their best to make it affordable for anyone who gets in. Crayons574
Who's applying to Yale for MFA Painting/Printmaking this year? Does anyone know how many people apply and the acceptance rate? Edited November 24, 2009 by Crayons574
andimags
Look earlier in this thread. Posted 05 May 2009 - 10:38 AM I believe their acceptance rate is about 4%, 22 out of around 600 more or less depending on the year.. Manugonza
andimags
I have a feeling that this is going to be a "less" year for some reason. It was reasonably filled up for the open house/open studios, but not nearly as zoo-like as last year.
Loosenyourtalktapes
As someone coming from a Liberal Arts undergrad education....do you think I have a shot? How much is going to art school mean when applying MFA programs that are this selective? Loosenyourtalktapes
andimags
I don't think where you got your degree really matters. What will matter is your portfolio.
turnip
I don't think where you got your degree really matters. What will matter is your portfolio. ditto. I think as long as your portfolio is strong a liberal arts background might even help you.
andimags
I have two questions: Is everyone slavering away at the Yale website? Am I the only one perverted enough to admit it?
