newenglandshawn Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 So who has applied - either successfully or otherwise - to PTS's PhD program and can provide some application "do's and don'ts"? I will be applying to the Biblical Studies (OT) program, but the reflections need not be limited to that area. It's much appreciated!
turktheman Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Hey Shawn, I am not able to answer your question directly since I haven't applied to that program. But, as you may know, I wouldn't mention Seow in your SOP. He's headed to teach at Vanderbiltl (according to an email sent out by Vanderbilt on the Agade email service). He begins teaching there mid-August of the 2015-16 school year. I have no idea if that's helpful information, but I figured I'd share. Rabbit Run 1

PTS student here, I can confirm the Seow thing, its a sad loss but I think very highly of some of our recent hires (Dewrell in particular). I'm only an Mdiv student, but it looks to me like they take about an equal number of people from PTS/from other programs into the program if that helps. Edited August 28, 2014 by Rabbit Run

I was not planning on mentioning Seow, as his interests don't really align with mine - but, again, thanks for mentioning this. I'm only an Mdiv student, but it looks to me like they take about an equal number of people from PTS/from other programs into the program if that helps. Thanks also for this! That is very encouraging.
