germanhistory Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Hey everyone! Long-time lurker, but I figured I'd jump in and join the conversation. Congrats to everyone who's been accepted! Has anyone heard anything about the Intensive Language Grant? I'm a Master's student who applied for one, and the suspense is killing me! Horb 1
Horb Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 I applied for the intensive language grant too! What was your first choice location?
germanhistory Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I asked for Leipzig as my first choice, but I'm completely blanking as to what my second pick was... I think maybe Berlin? What about you?
germanhistory Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Nice! Good luck to you.. I really hope we hear today or tomorrow. I don't even want to think about the state of my sanity (or lack thereof) if we don't at least hear by Friday afternoon.. Horb 1
brokecollegegrad Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Didnt get it. congrats to all that did. Good luck in your studies.
germanhistory Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm sure other opportunities will come your way! So it sounds like all the Study Scholarship people are hearing today, so maybe tomorrow? This wait is seriously killing my productivity. I just need to know one way or another so I can actually get back to work and stop checking my email every 5 seconds...
Horb Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 I mean, it has happened that we hear the same day as the study people.Â
germanhistory Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Let's hope this year is one of those times!Â
Horb Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 I will be very upset if we don't hear this week though. I applied for a June start and would need to get a ticket asap for it to be affordable.Â
kevinmann Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) I just found this thread a few days ago and I've been lurking on it ever since. I got my acceptance letter this morning. It doesn't say anything in the way of statistics for this year. Â Edit: I'm a US applicant for the DAAD study scholarship. I applied for funding for an MA. Edited March 31, 2015 by kevinmann
viggosloof28 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Horb, yep. First word was "congratulations" right after the salutation line. Horb 1
Horb Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Question: was there a special header / subject line? For the Fulbright, they did (P) (A) or (NS) and well...I want to be able to take a breath before reading. . . .
viggosloof28 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Nope, just "DAAD Graduate Scholarship 2015-2016" in the subject line, so I had time to brace myself!
crthrasher Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Thanks!!! For posterity, just thought I'd note, I just checked my portal and it still says "selection made". So that hasn't changed.
asfarwest Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I got the long-term research grant too, and for posterity my status on the portal also says "Selection made." A colleague of mine who was also applying was rejected, and his portal said a while ago "Application rejected," so I think it's worth taking what the portal says seriously. Â I'll be turning down the fellowship in favor of another one, so I hope one of you guys gets it!
brokecollegegrad Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) So anyone gonna reject DAAD lol.. Edited April 1, 2015 by brokecollegegrad
