m.giugno
Hi there, I was looking on the Peterson's website http://www.petersons.com and I focused on the admission percentage statistics in Aerospace Engineering. They seem quite really strange so I will post them: Stanford 75% admitted!!! UIUC 49%!! Ann Arbor MI 62%!!!!! UMinn 52%! USC 77%!!!!! Purdue 75%!!!!! Am I dreaming?! m.giugno
I also found something about the financial aid of departments: Georgia Tech: 202 students (both MS and PhD), 185 students supported with Fellow, TA and RA. WVU: 35 students, 24 supported. UC-Davis: 137 students, 98 supported. UH: 74 students, 55 supported. UIUC: 88, 83 supported!!!! Is that possible? Realistic? I hope so! cardnav
Both statistics may be possible, but keep in mind Peterson's (in particular) doesn't update their information very often. My programs had information that was 5/6 years old. Also, keep in mind that the recession has changed the rules about funding, so don't take them as gospel. If you talk with the depts and/or visit they'll probably tell you how many spots they are looking to fill.

m.giugno
Is there a site providing some similar infos?
natofone
I had done a bunch of research on political science programs and had their acceptance rates in a spreadsheet (based upon just looking at the websites of various programs). The numbers were wildly off. For example, petersons lists NYU at 44% acceptance. They now are at 10% (http://politics.as.nyu.edu/object/phd_a ... s_faq.html). About 5-7 years ago they made a ton of great hires and really started to move up in the rankings, so I assume that this 44% was before they got better...so 5-7 years ago.
