Happy91 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Hi everyone, I noticed that there is not a forum for people applying to Peabody this application season. I was thinking that we could share GPA/GRE stats and update each other on if we here anything. Good luck to everyone applying!

CHWF Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Thanks, whittylin! We all know that GRE scores are only partly necessary and never sufficient for admission. You've got great experience, and that matters just as much, if not more than, a good GRE score. And now...we wait. Wow CHWF! Great scores! Mine are definitely lacking, but here's hoping for the best!
Happy91 Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 Just officially submitted my application! Now all we can do is wait I suppose. January is going to be a long month!

CHWF Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Anyone want to venture when we'll hear back about interviews? It seems that's pretty much a requirement for admission to the Ph.D. programs—anyone know something more specific?
JackOfStyle Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Last year they did their interview invitations at the same time as most other schools - late January or so. Interview weekend was a few weeks later. Acceptance came some time in March, if I remember correctly.
Kirbyd Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 So the Ed.D. first deadline has come and gone! How many people applied for that program instead of the Ph.D.? When will we likely hear something?

whittylin Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I know that Peabody traditionally sends out interview invites around this time. Anyone heard anything? I am freaking out a bit.
CHWF Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'm with you, whittylin! It seems like it could be anytime this week...fingers crossed for everyone.
tchrsquirrel Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I have been religiously watching the results page for ANY education results (it seems that few of the results have been from schools of ed, thus far). Anyway, I just saw one posted for Peabody (invitation to interview weekend). I didn't apply to Peabody, but I thought this info might be of interest to those following this topic. Best of luck to all of you!
whittylin Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Thank you tchrsquirrel! If I don't hear back by the weekend, I will consider myself rejected. I am happy to know that some people are finding out.

nashville0808 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Some applicants invited for the interview are rejected in the end. Then, applicants on a waiting list are contacted.
lulamae Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I received an email this week from a professor in my program asking to schedule a time to speak over the phone. She said they had finished reviewing applications and "would love to talk" if I was still interested in attending. She didn't mention that it was an interview specifically.... Does this mean anything or is it just procedure to contact applicants? I'm pretty new to this whole grad school process so any words of wisdom would help!

I had a professor say he wanted to schedule a time to "chat" over the phone. When we did, it was an interview, and he made no bones about that. That was for a PhD program, though. Are you a doctoral or Master's applicant?

Seems like it is most likely an interview from what people are telling me, I guess i'll find out soon enough! Thanks!
StenoLubr Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) Master's. Seems like it is most likely an interview from what people are telling me, I guess i'll find out soon enough! Thanks! I also had a phone interview for masters few days ago Edited January 17, 2015 by StenoLubr
lulamae Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I also had a phone interview for masters few days ago Mind if I asked how it went? I have a few ideas of what they'd ask and what to expect in general but id love to hear about your experience
StenoLubr Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Mind if I asked how it went? I have a few ideas of what they'd ask and what to expect in general but id love to hear about your experience It was pretty general. Talked about my background, interest, and future goal. Also how the program fits ur goal and interest. Then you get to ask questions at the end.

It seems we are different concentrations (I am higher ed—you are learning, teaching & diversity, right?), but any information might be helpful. Are you also going to the interview weekend, or was the phone call in lieu of the in-person interview? Thanks for your input!
