autumn Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 The link isn't working and I looked through the site but didn't find it. Where did you find the link?
lyrehc Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 I'm a member of NCA so maybe that's why it came up for me. They sent it in an email. http://www.natcom.org/Secondary.aspx?id=5902(Try this link instead).
mikeman591 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Some very interesting findings. This field is becoming increasingly female-dominated (my whole master's program is 90% women) and there's a clear lack of minority/under-represented groups becoming researchers in the discipline. This also made me feel really young, as I will only be 24 when I start doctoral study. 27-29 is much younger than that median age of 33. I'll be interested to see how that helps/hinders me in the end when looking for a job.
lyrehc Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 I don't think age should affect you that much. Some of the people in my program are very young -- two are barely 21 -- while still gaining recognition for their research.
DrF8 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 (edited) If anything, it affects those that are 33. Much more is expected of us. Not that I care much because I'm not in this field anymore. Edited February 20, 2015 by DrF8 grad_wannabe 1
CommPhD20 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 The link in the OP has a bad character at the end. Try this one and it should work. autumn 1
