j_rae
A friend of mine was actually accepted off of their waitlist last year so let's still have some hope. You're right! Good Luck! That's good to know! Good luck to you guys!
mbslp2014
I got into their program and am trying to make a decision. Do you know much about it? Hi! I don't know too much about it but the first semester is just classes then the second semester you begin interning in their clinic. The program has a big bilingual emphasis. I will be attending there this fall, hope this helped!
SLP_0318
Does anyone have any information about NYU and Hofstra? Having a hard time making a decision. Attended both open houses but don't know anyone in attendance at either school to know much about the reputation of the programs.

Attended both open houses but don't know anyone in attendance at either school to know much about the reputation of the programs. I heard that NYU recently lost its accreditation (not sure exactly when). They have it now I'm pretty sure but to lose it before review is pretty bad (this is what a friend who knew people trying to decide whether or not to go to NYU two years ago said). Otherwise I have heard that it puts more emphasis on research than clinicals. I've heard great things about Hofstra but they do place an emphasis on research as well. alisoj21
In all of your opinions, what is the best Long Island program? Right now I'm deciding between LIU Post, Hofstra and Adelphi. Also thinking about Columbia but not sure if their name is worth the money.
Britney M
I am trying to choose between Hofstra and Adelphi. Does anyone know more information about Adelphi's Sunday program? I know you would be doing all your class on Sunday but how many hours are required for the in house clinics during the week? I think the Sunday program would be nice because it could give you the opportunity to work as well while going to school.
elisas390
For all those wondering about Iona's waitlist, I e-mailed them this morning and got this response: "Yes, the waitlist is ranked and admission decisions will be offered in order of rank. Offers are made if and once an accepted student notifies us that they will not be attending Iona. Only students who are offered admission will be notified. It is difficult to give an exact timeline, as the waitlist process is more fluid than the acceptance process." The assistant director of admissions is very nice, I hope this little bit of information helps! Still a waiting game when all is said and done
Ama0616a
So, NYU straight up did not review my application. How upsetting! I submitted everything in October and I have been calling them for weeks about having no response yet. Finally today they admit that they missed my application. WHAT? I also emailed them today about it haha, I should have checked the forum first! We could be waiting forever :| This is my only non-rejection so I hope it works out. I wonder if they will tell us our ranking!

Ama0616a
Heard back from Iona. Their waitlist has 60 freakin' people on it She didn't tell me my ranking. I also did not explicitly ask. I was just running some numbers and I literally have a better chance being accepted to medical school than SLP school! WHAAATTTTTT

I really hope it works out in both of our favors!! Where else did you apply, and are you waiting on any other schools? I applied to 9 other schools, all rejections. Besides, NYU who lost my application or somehow skipped over it (found that out today when someone finally looked into their system for me. I submitted it in october!) I don't know what will happen with NYU but I'm probably going to be rejected and then I hope they just give me back my $75 for applying!

I know that it's much easier said than done, but that's what I keep telling myself. I haven't heard from all of my schools yet, so at this point while the unknown is nerve wracking I guess It's better than bad news.. This is such a stressful process! missymel17
I spoke to a very helpful graduate assistant at Brooklyn College. I was informed they are still interviewing and pulling people in for interviews. They are going on spring break as of today, but hope to be done with the process of admitting by April 15th. She said the latest we should know is by the end of this month. Wells that's kind of annoying and really last minute seeing as how we have to reply to other schools by then. I'm so anxious to find out whether or not I got in.

speechpath15
I saw a few people today got rejection e-mails from William Paterson, is it safe to assume if you didn't get the first round of acceptances, nor these rejections that you've been put on a waiting list? Anyone else not heard? I haven't heard from Seton Hall or Kean either.
