Money Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Received an acceptance email at 1:01pm PST from Tyler Browne/signed Bruce Hoffman. Strong GPA, LORs, decent GRE. 4 years relevant work history. Also received a 25% merit based scholarship. Stoked.
Apkallu Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Accepted. Weak GPA but good GRE and LORs. Four years of relevant work experience. No scholarship, but still awesome.
NotLostWanderer Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Also accepted! No funding though, so unfortunately I won't be attending.
SnakePliskin207 Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Accepted! I had a good undergrad GPA, GRE, and strong LORs (I assume they wrote nice things). 7 years of military experience, several deployments overseas. No scholarship, but that's OK as the military is funding my grad school.
ReinventOneself Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I was not accepted. Makes my choice all the more easier. See you in Cambridge
acm14 Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Accepted but no funding.....so nope! Probably choosing SAIS
SnakePliskin207 Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Does anyone know if the SSP has an admitted student weekend? I can't seem to find info on it anywhere. Email decision released on 27 March, decision must be made by 15 April...but I haven't even seen the place yet! Thanks in advance.
A.Vandelay Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I couldn't find anything on the forum, but anyone know of any success stories getting off of the waitlist for SSP?Â
potatopower12 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) I was accepted into SSP but with no funding. It's my dream school, but I'm not sure I can justify the debt. I have no idea what the average salary is for the security field, and so I can't judge if the debt is worth it. What do you all think? Edited March 30, 2015 by whaynes2
Money Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Hey guys - I started an "ADMITTED" thread for SSP F15 students, more concise and specifically for the SSP vice the SFS broad program and the other SFS schools.
OpenHouseOtto Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I got in, but I didn't get funding. They said they would put me on a scholarship waitlist and tell me about anything between April 20th and May 1st. Does everyone get put on a waitlist? Has anyone heard back about final funding decisions yet?
notsosure Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Yes, I have and got a half-tuition scholarship.
OpenHouseOtto Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Yes, I have and got a half-tuition scholarship. Â Did you get an email notification? Around what time yesterday?
notsosure Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Yes, I think around 5pm (Central European Time). But I was mailing back and forth before that.
OpenHouseOtto Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Yes, I think around 5pm (Central European Time). But I was mailing back and forth before that. Â Interesting, did you "negotiate" funding with them based on other offers? Do you think that helped? Â Has anyone heard definitively that they will not be getting off the funding waitlist?
notsosure Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Yes, I made it clear that I was set to go to another school (with scholarship) because I already placed the deposit there.. but that Georgetown was still my top-choice. So no real negotiating, but giving them hints about what I intended to do if I didn't get any funding.
