Is there anywhere I can take this online this summer without prerequisites? USU seems to require anatomy of speech/hearing mechanisms first, but that is another course I'm taking this summer as a pre-requisite for whichever grad program I get into. It seems impossible for an out-of-fielder to find what they need to take this summer!

Check FSU online pre-reqs. I completed all my CSD pre-reqs with FSU online.

As for the ASHA-required science classes, I did my biology and chemistry with MGH ( will take statistic this summer) online and the rest of the requirements are covered thru my undergrad.

USU will waive the prereqs. Anatomy of the ear was not needed to do well. There may be a few things you would have to look up if you haven't taken it first, but I found it really easy.

Oh, good to know. Do I need to ask them in advance to waive them, or just... register?

(By the way, for people searching in the future: I did seem to find an option through SUNY New Paltz, but USU is cheaper)

You'll need to email heather.humphreys@usu.edu to release the prereq restriction prior to registering.

I'm taking Intro to Audiology now and didn't take the prereq. It's not bad at all. :)

Just to add additional options, UW Eau Claire does allow people to take their online courses one at a time, without being in the post-bacc, but they do fill quickly. They also offer audiology in the summer, as well as many of their courses. Other courses are just recommended prereqs, not required, but I think being concurrently enrolled in those classes should cause you no problem.

I would email to double check that you can enroll in it without being in the post-bacc, but I am pretty certain you can. The price is comparable to other places ($375 a credit).

To add on to what MangoSmoothie said, I'm taking online pre-reqs through Longwood University. I'm currently taking speech science and language development across the lifespan, but they have many other options as well, so I'm almost positive they have Audiology also!
