Hey! I see that decisions have been made for a lot of people on their My Madison account. Has anyone heard from the distance learning program (DLVE)? I am anxiously awaiting! My Madison status just says "complete".

Congrats to all accepted! I just found out I was accepted to the DLVE program. I have a few questions about when we have to come to campus. Is it just the summer of the second year? Or is there another semester where you have to be on campus?

Yep, that's right, plus an on-campus orientation this June. I wonder what the dates are for orientation. Has anyone heard?

 

If I'm remembering it right, the summer session is 6 weeks long (Monday-Thursday each week), and some people do it after the first year and some after the second.

I was just at the open house! When you accept your offer of admission, they invite you to the Facebook page. You will also be receiving information about orientation and everything else through an email in July.

I have, Lauren. I'm a career switcher in Virginia with two kids and I can't move to go to a different program. DLVE was the only school that would work for me! I'm so excited to have gotten in. How about you?

I'm going.  Also a career changer with kids so can't move.  Really excited for the opportunity!  Are either of you going to the open house next week?

I'm not going to the open house - can't get away right now. I went to a tour in November. Looking forward to orientation in June!

I am going to apply this fall for Spring of 2017... Did anyone get in with a gpa lower than 3.25? My gpa is a 3.24 and I JUST missed the mark. I still want to apply though and pray they find my package strong enough to overlook my gpa.

Following and seconding SLPCareerChanger!  Am strongly considering accepting an offer from this program as a newlywed career changer. Hopefully the virtual open house will answer some of our questions tonight!

So I am starting the JMU distance program this summer. I got ahold of a current student via fb and she said that her cohorts biggest negative review of the program is the required online meetings. Depending on the semester there are 1-2 live meetings per week. For me this isn't and issue, but it hasn't been advertised to that is something to think about it if you are planning on working in the evenings.
