Coast2Coast Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 These people might as well say they'll pay in January. No kidding. Any word from people who have PIs reviewing these? So annoying but thanks for the update!
fishguy Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 On the closed awards site, they have changed the current status for all STAR fellowships from "review process underway" to "review status underway". Not sure what this really means, but at least it looks like they are getting closer to releasing information. http://www.epa.gov/ogd/competition/closed_awards.htm
aconv13 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Just got notification that my application did not pass peer review and received "very good" rating in C1 category. Good luck to everyone still in! atlremix, cee15 and coffee_grad 3
atlremix Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Thanks for letting us know, aconv13. Better luck next time, but cheers for the high rating on the peer review nonetheless. I hope that they let everyone know soon, this wait is brutal.

bio323 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I'm guessing most of the people who got rejections may have quit reading the forum obsessively (must be nice), but for anyone out there who may have heard something one way or the other……it would be great if you would post what category you applied under. Good luck to all atlremix and kbolya1 2
kbolya1 Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Agreed- am in the large E3 category and haven't heard anything yet- so I'm wondering if people have received rejection e-mails yet, or if the reviewers are simply not finished the process!
cee15 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 It may be anomalous to have received a rejection email at the moment. I think more people would have posted. Plus, they have 1300+ candidates to personally email and compile review reports for. I think as the week(s) goes on, we'll start seeing more rejection emails trickling in. However, it IS a good sign that they're getting these rejections out. That means they have the external review completed and internal programmatic review is underway or waiting to start. It is promising that the process is moving forward. kbolya1 1
Coast2Coast Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I just got my rejection for B1. Good luck everyone! Clearly I have some things to work on but the motivation for the day is gone. I wish you all the best and thanks for your help! coffee_grad 1
baymax Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Got my rejection (B3) yesterday as well. Good luck to everyone still in the running! coffee_grad 1
coffee_grad Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) I am in the E1 category and have not heard anything. Update: Spoke 15 minutes too soon. Just received by rejection in E1. Good luck to all. Edited September 30, 2015 by coffee_grad
sciaenops Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Just got my rejection for the E2 category with an overall score of very good. Good feedback for the NSF GRFP at least hahahah. Good luck to those still waiting.
newenglandgrad Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Has anyone heard anything from A1?I'm A1 and haven't heard anything :/ getting nervous if notices are going out...
kmf Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Just found this page as I sat here biting my nails. I applied under B2 and have yet to hear anything.A friend applied under D1 and got the rejection email Monday morning. Same for another friend who applied under C2.
BC Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Someone in my dept got a rejection Monday, also with very good rating. I think he was either B3 or C3. I am C2 and haven't heard anything yet.
newenglandgrad Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Wow, I'm a dope ....that's what a writing all-nighter will do to you. I'm actually F1. Sorry!
atlremix Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I am also F1 and haven't heard anything =/ Getting anxious!
ABFoodie Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I am also F1, and have not had any updates about my application yet...
cee15 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I'm in F1 as well. No word yet.I'm wondering if they're still in the review process of our applications or if there were a couple people that were supposed to send out the notifications and they haven't. Either way, it's nerve wracking :\
kbolya1 Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 If anyone sees that/when the undergrad GRO fellowships are posted, let us know. It looks like they were planning on having those finished before they finish the STAR process.
Chs13 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Thanks all for posting information and your updates! I am E2 and have not heard back yet.
