yin-bodhi Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 New School (Sociology): "decision in two weeks" (response to my e-mail) I just got an e-mail today saying that application packets are in the mail and I was accepted. Check your e-mail and see if they sent something to you! I guess something happened with the packets because they were sent out the second week of March and they found out people were not getting them. I hope I get mine tomorrow! I also hope you got in!

Phi Beta Delta (officer) National Merit Scholar (yay for full ride undergrad) Work 20-25 hours a week while full time student as web designer and humanities tutor No publications in my field, but I did write an article for a book on humanism that was published >schools applied to 6, All Sociology MA or PhD programs. >rejects Enough. (so far, three) >admits Portland State, and accepted! Full tuition plus TA ship Still wait listed on two.

(... loads of unpublished work with about 7-8 years experience in social and development research) Cornell (development sociology): rejected Georgia (Sociology): waitlisted ("informal waiting list") Rutgers (Sociology): accepted, with funds Illinois, Chicago (soc.): "decision deferred: manual review required" (they just don't seem to respond to the e-mail enquiries) Penn State (Rural Sociology): accepted, with funds New School (Sociology): accepted (yet to get the letter by post), partial funding Georgia state: accepted, no word on funds yet
tripax Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 abcd: UIC had my friend's and my application listed as "decision deferred: manual review required" until they made their decision (both of us were accepted). I think that it means that the graduate college is deffering the decision to the department, but I don't know for sure. Good luck everyone. I'm too paranoid to post my profile until I know from all of my schools.
